What made you decide you wanted to be a photographer?
I’ve always loved photography, ever since I was a young child. I love being able to capture moments in time to save forever, to capture the memories and the beauty of a moment.
How would you describe your photography style?
My style is very natural. I am an outdoor, natural lighting photographer and I edit my photos as little as possible. I want to capture the moment as it really was.
What kind of camera do you shoot with?
What is your favorite lens?
Right now I’m really loving my 18-135 mm lens.
What are a few things you wish you would have known when starting your own business?
How to start a client base, I think that’s the biggest thing I wish I would have known.
What do you find is the best way to promote your photography business?
Word of mouth. If you please your clients they are going to share with others and bring in more business.
What is your most favorite photo you have ever taken and why?
It’s nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite. I have a favorite photo from each and every session and from each and every nature shoot. If I had to pick a favorite it would probably be one from the shoot I did of my daughter on her 13th birthday in the blooming peach orchard.
What tip would you give aspiring photographers?
Don’t get discouraged, keep practicing and find your style. Do it because you enjoy it and don’t let anyone steal your love for it!
What is your favorite photography quote?
“ Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow.” – Imogen Cunningham
